Brief Summary Below
“Trump: America’s First Zionist President” is a thought-provoking examination of Donald Trump’s presidency and his complex relationship with Jewish interest groups. Trump is compromised, but because of his fortune, he’s more likely to reject detrimental Jewish interests. His wealth and business success before entering politics have allowed him to reject policies most damaging to America’s interests.
Nevertheless, throughout his presidency, Trump demonstrated an unprecedented level of support for Israel, a stance that has him standing foresquare with other sycophants paid directly by AIPAC and other Jewish interests. His bold move of recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and relocating the US embassy there sent a powerful message to the world about his unwavering commitment to the Jewish state.
More troubling, Trump’s first administration was filled with key figures whose blind loyalty to Israel supersedes everything, including his son-in-law Jared Kushner, who played a pivotal role in shaping Middle East policy. The appointment of David Friedman, a staunch supporter of Israeli settlements, as the US ambassador to Israel further reinforced Trump’s commitment to advancing Israeli interests. These appointments, which are not fair and are not balanced, should be unthinkable. They’re illustrative of the influence Israel has throughout the United States Government.
