Native Americans

Chickasaw, Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek  and Seminole are the Five Civilized Tribes.    I learned this in Oklahoma History when I was in Junior High School.  As these were indigenous peoples and as, in retrospect, the Nation viewed their treatment as poor, they were granted special dispensations of land to maintain their independent countries and special rights and privileges not available to others when operating their countries within that land.
